  • Application Engineer

    Job Overview

    This position will collaborate with the entire engineering team but will have a focus on supporting sales and customer service. Our industry is entirely comprised of technical sales, and a bevy product drawings, specifications, design modifications, and engineering support are required for daily operations specific to the sales effort. We produce a standardized product offering as well as participate in custom applications requiring new product design, existing design modification, and application specification, requiring constant teamwork between sales and engineering. This position will require customer interaction as well as direct collaboration with manufacturers, installing contractors, and design firms, so good interpersonal skills are a must. Some travel may be required for onsite consultation, troubleshooting, customer education, or application development purposes.


    **Position is at our Montebello, CA facility.

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Producing drawings and technical information needed for sales submittals.

    • Work with engineering team to design and draft new product ideas.

    • Assisting in gathering information from the sales team or customer to generate job quotes.

    • Support manufacturing by creating dimensioned drawings for subassemblies and components.

    • Troubleshoot new or existing product issues involving designs, materials, or processes.

    • Participate in experiments for new products and/or manufacturing techniques.

    • Collaborate with all departments in a positive and professional manner.

    • Technical support to sales team.

    • Specification verification.


    Job Requirements

    • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment (2 to 4 years preferred).

    • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar field.

    • 2 Years work experience with SolidWorks.

    • Excellent communicator that can explain and listen to new ideas, criticism, and alternative solutions.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    • Mechanically inclined and able to work hands on.

    • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    • Professional demeanor; strong interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with all employees and external business contacts.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite; working knowledge of Windows.


    Preferred

    • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and PDM systems a plus.

    • Must be a self-starter; open-minded, team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    • Experience with direct customer interaction a plus.

    • Experience creating estimates or quotes.

    • Position requires the ability to work in cross functional groups to solve problems and continuously improve the processes.

    • AutoCAD, familiar with SolidWorks Renderings.

    • English / Spanish.


    Other Requirements

    • Sitting - 60%, Standing - 20%, Walking - 20%

    • Ability to walk up and down stairs from 1st to 2nd level.

    • Ability to work in a high-paced manufacturing work environment.


    Schedule

    • 8-hour shift

    • Monday to Friday
