Q1: Do we test Double Wall sumps by filling the inside of sump with water?
NO! ‘Water lake test’ should NOT be used on Double Wall sumps. In fact the lake test may mask leaks and may interfere with the proper installation processes. The proper Double Wall testing procedures for SB-989 and AB-2481 can be found on our What's New page, and others.

Q2: What are the Bravo test requirements for SINGLE & DOUBLE Wall sumps?
Testing requirements for Single Wall fall under the guidelines of
SB-989 can be found Here.
Testing requirements for Double Wall under guidelines of
AB-2481 can be found Here.
Note: Always check with you local regulatory authority for additional guidelines for testing requirements that may be more stringent than ones established by S. Bravo Systems, Inc.

Q3: How do I know a person is certified to install, test or repair Bravo Equipment?
Bravo provides all its certified contractors with a certification card. For the latest list of Bravo-certified contractors visit our Certifications Page and click to view Certified Contractor List.

Q4: Can an individual use his/her certification card from their previous employer?
No! Bravo certification is strict and as such, individuals are issued their card under the company they are currently employed with. This eliminates contractors doing poor quality or unlawful work and having a new employee with Bravo Certification show up on-site and flash their certification card. The name on the Certification card and the name of the company doing business should match. Bravo Systems uses the “Doing Business As” name of the company for its Certification cards, if applicable. If there is any discrepancy you may check the Certified Contractor List to be sure the company is an approved contractor or call Bravo at (323) 888-4133 for certification verification.

Q5: Are Bravo fittings UL?
No, Bravo fittings are not UL approved. However Bravo penetrations are Third Party Approved for use with all of its product lines. Click on any of the third party evaluation for Single/Double Wall secondary/tertiary containment products found on our Third Party Approval page.

Q6: I noticed that you changed your Vent Transition and UDC Install Manuals to require 4 PSI pressure to be applied for all testing. It used to be a maximum of 2 PSI. Is this correct?
Yes. This change was made to lower the amount of time possibly needed to verify integrity and increase the chance of leak detection. We felt that 2 PSI was acceptable for our older generation Double Wall boxes, not the newer generation.

Q7: What is propylene glycol?
Click on this link to find technical reference: Propylene Glycol. Used in moisturizers for medicines, carrier for fragrance oils, food grade antifreeze, hand sanitizers, antibacterial lotions, saline solutions, cosmetics products, baby wipes, bubble baths and shampoos, paint balls, and air craft deicing fluids.
Bravo uses Propylene Glycol. as a interstitial fluid for its double wall hydrostatic sumps. Bravo choose Propylene Glycol. for its antifreeze, non-corrosive and non-toxic properties. You can also find the Bravo interstitial fluid. MSDS here.
